Hubei Dongrun Automobile Group
Upholding the bottom line of safety, Dongrun safeguards safe freight transportation.
Hubei Dongrun has been manufacturing special-purpose vehicles for many years, with expertise in all models including powder tankers, refrigerated trucks, stake trucks, and skeleton trucks. We understand the hardships our truck drivers endure year-round to support their families. Earning money is important, but in stormy weather, maintaining vehicle stability and getting home safely is paramount. Below is a set of easy-to-understand typhoon driving tips – drivers, please save this!

I. Pre-trip Check: A Quick Check for a Safe Journey

【General Check for All Models】 Before setting off, check typhoon warnings and real-time road conditions. During periods of heavy rain and strong winds, postpone your trip if possible. Avoid cross-sea bridges, elevated highways with strong winds, low-lying mountain areas, and dangerous roads along rivers. Take a few minutes to check tires, brakes, ABS, tow hook connection, and all vehicle lights. Prepare emergency tools. Preemptively addressing potential problems will reduce trouble on the road.

【Dongrun Exclusive Self-Check】

Dongrun powder/cement tanker trucks have a relatively high center of gravity, so avoid overloading and exceeding limits to prevent vehicle swaying in strong winds. Remember to tighten the tank top cover, safety valve, and unloading port to prevent rainwater from entering and causing powder to clump or loosening of parts. Dongrun tanker trucks feature a lower center of gravity design and machine welding technology, making them more stable and safer to drive in windy and rainy conditions.

✅ Dongrun refrigerated trailers (green channel/cold chain transportation): Before departure, close the doors and tighten the side curtains. Check the waterproof condition of the refrigeration unit wiring to prevent water ingress during heavy rain, which could cause shutdowns and damage to goods. Dongrun refrigerated trucks are equipped with a thickened waterproof and heat-insulating layer and anti-corrosion technology, making them resistant to rain and protecting goods in windy and rainy weather.

Dongrun warehouse/skeleton trailers (general cargo/container transport) feature double-layered, tightly secured tarpaulins with multiple binding points to prevent them from being blown off by strong winds. For container transport, the four corner twist locks must be locked securely to prevent container displacement. Dongrun warehouse trailers utilize a low-load-bearing surface and a high-strength steel frame, resulting in more even wind resistance, more secure cargo securing, and more stable wind resistance.

II. Driving Tips: Slow Down and Drive Steadily for Effortless Weather Management

1. Control Speed and Combat Crosswinds: Avoid high speeds at windy areas and on bridges. Maintain a speed below 60 km/h for regular vehicles, and below 50 km/h for high-center-of-gravity vehicles such as dump trucks and tankers. Keep both hands firmly on the steering wheel, making small adjustments without sudden turns or braking. If the wind is strong, pull over to the nearest safe location; don't rush.

2. Increase Following Distance and Drive Safely: Visibility is poor in rainy weather, so increase following distance to 2-3 times the normal distance. Turn on low beam headlights and fog lights; avoid using high beams as they can be blinding. Use hazard lights in low visibility. Minimize overtaking and driving alongside other vehicles to avoid increased vehicle swaying due to airflow. Maintaining a steady following distance is safest.

3. Don't Brave in Flooded Areas: If the road is more than half-submerged, detour; there's no need to risk driving through flooded areas. When passing through water, drive slowly and steadily, without stopping or shifting gears. After passing through water, lightly apply the brakes to dry the brake pads. If the engine stalls due to water accumulation, do not attempt to restart it; immediately evacuate to higher ground.

III. Parking: Choose a good location and take good care of your vehicle.

Prioritize parking in well-drained, reputable service areas and open parking lots. For long-term parking, remember to engage the handbrake, double-check and reinforce the tarpaulin and ropes, and lock the cargo box, tank, and doors. Take precautions against wind and rain to minimize damage to the vehicle and cargo.

IV. Dongrun's Heartwarming Message: Every trailer from Hubei Dongrun is manufactured with precision intelligent technology, using high-quality high-strength steel and mature welding and electrophoretic anti-corrosion processes. We have specifically optimized the vehicle's center of gravity and driving stability to ensure the safety of our truck drivers on their journeys.

Reliable vehicle condition is a foundation, but safe driving is fundamental. During typhoon weather, there's no need to rush; steady, slow driving and a safe return are the greatest rewards of driving.
