Aeolus L8 and Xiangyang Dongfeng Aeolus Team - Both "Win"

At first, I didn’t consider new energy vehicles. I was thinking about traditional luxury brands – after all, in my line of work, “face” can also be part of one’s assets. Then I came across the Dongfeng Aeolus L8 on Douyin. Its appearance is grand, steady, low‑key, without any flashy gimmicks – exactly my taste. That night I did my research on forums, and the next day I went to the dealership and placed an order.

Now I’ve been driving it for over half a year. What impresses me most – as a numbers person – is the running cost. For daily city commuting, I basically use pure electric mode. The official range is 185 km; my real test without AC reached about 180 km, and with AC it still achieves 85%‑90% of the claimed range.
What does that mean? A daily commute of 20‑30 km means charging once or twice a week – cheaper than taking the subway. For occasional long trips, I tried driving without recharging: in hybrid mode with AC, fuel consumption was 6.5 L/100km; in smart mode it dropped to 5.1 L/100km. That works out to just over CNY 0.3 per kilometer – running costs that beat all expectations. I never even dreamed of this when I used to drive a petrol car!

This time we were invited to the “Aeolus Living Room” event, which coincided with the Chuchao tournament – the Xiangyang team, sponsored by Dongfeng Aeolus, won its first match. Our Aeolus L8 convoy escorted the team throughout. There was no jerkiness at start; power was instantly responsive when following, and the convoy moved smoothly. Many spectators were talking about the car. At that moment, the sense of pride I felt was something money simply cannot buy.
Before the Chuchao tournament kicked off, the Dongfeng Aeolus L8 transformed into a “mobile recovery pod”. Its cloud‑soft big sofa and zero‑pressure SPA driver’s seat helped the players relieve physical strain, allowing them to quickly recharge on their way to the stadium and meet every fierce battle with full energy.
